The single “Going Out of My Head” with the mutated guitar riff from “Can’t Explain” has hit the radio, and it’s okay, but did you know that it’s the bassist from The Housemartins? That much said, there’re better songs on Better Living Through Chemistry. “The Weekend Starts Here” is a seamless melding of the keyboards the Beasties sampled on “To all the Girls,” the opening harmonica from Sabbath’s “The Wizard,” and the ubiquitous John Bonham drumbeat. It’s danceable, it’s listenable, and he’s friends with the Dust Brothers. Not the best, but one to pick up anyway.
