King Cobb Steelie – Junior Relaxer – Review

King Cobb Steelie

Junior Relaxer (Nettwerk)
by Malcolm E

Another live band trying to slip into the warm-up suit of the mellowed-out raver. Good songs (and they are songs), mixing up some REM/Smiths vocals among reverb, tremolo, turntables, percussion, endless bass, and a sound that points right at the crossover of post-indie-punk-whatever of the late ’80s and electronica (the post-indie-punk-whatever of the late ’90s). With enough money, they can easily be pushed toward the penultimate top o’ the heap. Not the top, mind you, but close.
