Don’t Be Afraid (Cleopatra)
by Angela Dauthi

Do you know what happens when synth pop meets industrial? That’s right: Dark, intense, electronic songs that don’t have tons of distortion on the vocals! This is the kind of stuff I can get into. A knack for writing a song, combined with enough depression that I want to listen to it. Like Depeche Mode if they were angrier, with a vocal style (strangely) reminiscent of Howard Jones. But in a good way? What won me over, though, is that they didn’t slaughter their cover of “Are ‘Friends’ Electric?”
