Union – Review

Union

(Mayhem)
by Scott Hefflon

Ex-Mötley Crüe vocalist John Corabi and ex-Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick combine efforts ’cause no real band would have ’em, and hell, this way no one could kick ’em out when someone better came along. Sure, that’s mean, but fuck ’em. Anyone impressed by their names is going to rush out and buy this ignorable slab of mediocre rock regardless of what I say, so I might as well take my potshots. I can’t hurt these guys, so hating them makes no difference.

I’m an ex-glam guy myself (hey, stop snickering), but I see no need to milk a dead genre, especially when you’re not doing it well. Much less trying to take it further (been there, done that, called it grunge). This is like trying to force a dead horse to cart your ego around town. Sure there are a couple (meaning two) songs that are pretty good, but I sure as shit ain’t recommending anyone pay good money for two pretty good songs.
