Bugjuice – Review

BUGjuice

(BMG)
by Scott Hefflon

You sometimes forget how many great bands a big distributor like BMG handles until you see something like this. Whether this sampler is buyable or not is beyond me (visit their newly-redesigned alterna-site, www.bugjuice.com, to win shit, find out shit, and do whatever it is you people who surf web pages do) but I got it (and the tasty bottle o’ bugjuice that came in the box with it) and here’s what’s on it – (Disc one): Hum, The Bogmen, Litany, Addict, (hed) p.e., Libido, Agents of Good Roots, The Aquabats, Freak Brothers, The Amazing Royal Crowns, Spiritualized, Eve 6, Kidney Thieves, and The Wannadies. (Disc two): Dar Williams, Natalie Imbruglia, Francis Dunnery, Mandalay, Jules Shear, Jars of Clay, Mulu, Abra Moore, High Llamas, Junkster, Fred Eaglesmith, Jai, and The Aquavelvets. Sure, they’re all the singles you’ve already heard from the bands you know, but probably no one‘s heard all these songs.
