The Crumbs – Low and Behold – Review

The Crumbs

Low and Behold (Lookout!)
by Scott Hefflon

Standing apart from the rest, The Crumbs have that garagabilly/punk thing going with a few under-enunciated Rancidisms, a healthy dollop of Bo Diddley-ing guitars, and paces that range from sobbing in yer dirty glass of whiskey to high-octane, yahoo-yellin’ barnburners. While the songs seem to trip over themselves sometimes, hell, who am I to talk – am I the only one who thinks the halls get narrower in the dark after you’ve been boozin’ all night? Produced by Doug Easley (Jon Spencer, etc.) in Memphis, Low and Behold captures the swagger, the sweetness, and the stumbles of these Floridian drunkabilly up-and-comers.
