Kill Holiday – Somewhere Between the Wrong is Right – Review

Kill Holiday

Somewhere Between the Wrong is Right (Revelation)
by Tim Den

Hardcore/emo kids are going to go nuts over this one. Not just because Somewhere Between the Wrong is Right embodies the pseudo-pop characteristics that the “scenesters” eat up (i.e. mid-tempo rock that really has no songwriting – The Get Up Kids being the best example), but because it is so uncool for hip kids to like this kind of music, that it is cool. I can see it now: “Hey dude, I just got the new Bloodlet. It’s so heavy it rules!” “(with up-turned eyes and snobbish voice) Oh really? Well I just looooove the new Kill Holiday.” “What!?” “You heard me. The new Kill Holiday. You know, just because I like hardcore doesn’t mean I don’t have sensitivity and emotion deep down inside.” “Wow, that’s so cool and grown up of you!” To the rest of us not quick enough to catch on to the trend, Kill Holiday only offers B-sides of The Smiths and Charlatans UK that not even the mods will touch. And while it’s a good thing that some hardcore/emo kids will start getting into stuff like this (for one reason or another), it’s a much better idea for them to just pick up the real thing.
