Cutlass Supreme – Review

Cutlass Supreme

(Some)
by Tim Den

Indie rock with a bit of pop thrown in. Although enjoyable as a mood setter, Cutlass Supreme really doesn’t stand out in a genre of heavy hitters like Jimmy Eat World and The Promise Ring. The songwriting isn’t too bad, but it’s definitely predictable at times. Some of the riffs sound a lot like Knapsack, which shouldn’t be a surprise since both bands hail from around the Bay Area (guitarist Sasha Loobkoff is also the brother of one-time Knapsack guitarist Sergie Loobkoff, I think). A decent debut, but I’m hoping for better things to come from these guys.
