Decay – Destiny – Review

Decay

Destiny (Suburban Home)
by Tim Den

You know there’s something wrong when a Japanese hardcore band puts out a better album than the last twenty American records that you just listened to. For Christ’s sakes, they’re kicking our asses!! Decay play energetic, “old school” hardcore that seems to be all the rage these days, but somehow make it a lot catchier and generally better than their American contemporaries. They’re no Sick Of It All or Agnostic Front, but they sure beat the hell out of Shutdown or Floorpunch (someone should fine me for even mentioning those names). With a live-sounding recording that captures the band’s adrenaline, Decay has found the secret to churning out simple songs and making them enjoyable.
