The (International) Noise Conspiracy – The First Conspiracy – Review

The (International) Noise Conspiracy

The First Conspiracy (G-7)
by Jon Sarre

This is almost too absurd to be true: Nordic revolutionaries partly chosen on the basis of their political integrity (an ex-Refused, a Separation, and a coupla former Sadiwases, if that’s gonna mean anything to ya) “detourning” ’60s punk and Philly soul and kickin’ out the jams motherfuckers (and Weathermen and Black Panther Partiers), like if the Who had been fronted by dashing Situationalist International bigshot/boring Marxist theorist Guy Debord. Surprisingly, the total amount of lyrical lecture consisting of paraphrasings of Angry Brigade/King Mob sloganeering doesn’t outweigh the musical punch provided by the (International) Noise Conspiracy‘s guitars, organ, bass, muffled drumming, and shout outs’n’yells. It’s music you can tap yer toes to whilst plotting the downfall of the bourgeoisie state. Rock out, comrades!
