Warmly produced (no nü metal here, kids), 9 also has an immediacy past records have lacked. A certain directness, with no pulled punches either lyrically or musically, is just what the witch doctor ordered. Much like the graininess and honest approach that’s made The Blair Witch Project so spooky, 9 slithers beneath your skin and creeps the shit out of you. And while certain lyrics will make you chuckle, not to mention their delivery, the overall whole is bound to send a chill up your spine
