Plankeye‘s power pop-rock doesn’t make you want to shut it off, but it doesn’t ring your bell like, say, Crumb does. It’s done with vocals hugging all the right notes in the guitar lines, warm bass tone as support, and flavorful guitar octaves, but it’s missing something… Magic. Yeah, that’s what’s missing…. Artists such as The Merrymakers and Creeper Lagoon can pull off what Plankeye is trying to, and they have the identity to make their songs unique. Plankeye’s got all the right melodies, but not the soul.
