Unruh joins the ranks of countless other hardcore-gone-wannbe death metal bands – bad screaming, bad breakdowns, and all. Goddamnit. I don’t mind every art school hardcore kid playing noisecore like bad Deadguy rip-offs, but at least leave good heavy music where it belongs. The sacred land of death metal treasures has been invaded. Damn you! Damn you all! How dare you attempt to mimic the might of Incantation (which every hardcore band is doing, puzzling me endlessly) and middle-era Napalm Death? Learn how to play your fuckin’ instruments first… Shredding really atonal notes really fast might make you believe you’re a grindcore band, but mindless songwriting will never get you to the level where your new idols are. Stick with the choker-wearing, shaved-head bunch. Leave good death metal to the bands that can deliver.
