Yup, a glorious piece of metal history. Part old school hyperblast black metal, mostly classic ’80s heavy metal/thrash, all dirty, nasty, and evil as shit. The easiest way to pigeonhole Usurper is to say they sound like what Celtic Frost’d sound like if they’d kept it going. While that may sound derivative, Celtic Frost were scary, heavy, used very distinctive, minor chord changes, and had an “Ugh!” like no one else. And if Usurper can further that, hell, more power to ’em!
