Paris, Texas – Brazilliant! – Review

Paris, Texas

Brazilliant! (Polyvinyl)
by Tim Den

These guys are getting better and better. Their full-length was a nice experiment in blending jazz, indie pop, and Dischord flailings, but this EP is where Paris, Texas succeeds. With a new guitarist in tow, Brazilliant! smooths out all the wrinkles and bumps in their multi-dimensional personality, focusing on the jumpiness of the tempos and the hook-laden melodies of the singer’s Guy Picciotto-vocals. Paris, Texas is slowly becoming a very original indie rock band, one that will create a unique enough identity to set itself apart from the other Midwestern bands.
