7 Seconds – Scream Real Loud – Review

7 Seconds

Scream Real Loud (Side One Dummy)
by Tim Den

I’m gonna assume we all know what 7 Seconds sound like. For those of you who don’t, go back to Punk Rock 101 and I’ll see you in ten years. For the rest of us, this is the legendary band looking back on nearly two decades of work, pulling out 26 songs of non-stop anthemic hardass punk. Not surprisingly, they skip most of their more accessible/experimental work (New Wind, The Music, The Message), and I think that’s a big mistake because every song starts to sound the same after a while. But really, there’s no denying “Not Just Boy’s Fun,” “Young Til I Die,” or “Red & Black.” And seriously, it doesn’t get any more fun than a live 7 Seconds show. Get this and go see them at all costs.
