Pissing Razors – Fields of Disbelief – Review

Pissing Razors

Fields of Disbelief (Noise)
by Martin Popoff

Album number three in as many years finds these Texans cementing their reputation as true rock’n’roll hellraisers in both personality and musicality, slamming ’em back with Biohazard and Pantera. But there are a few added dimensions, vocals harangued through Crowbar, wily constructs tipping a black hat to Relapse-style noisecore (maybe even some mod Earth Crisis), and man, just lots of activity. People will always call Pissing Razors the next possible step past Pantera, and said effect is palpable, mainly in the riffs, never in the production. Pissing Razors go for more of a warm, organic sound, this time Razor Eddy Garcia taking the reigns. Rife with ideas, rhythms and a will to conquer, somewhere over the fine line between committed mosh metal and the harder end of nü metal.
