Red Planet – Revolution33 – Review

Red Planet

Revolution33 (Gearhead)

Fuckin’ Christ, I’m getting Bay City Rollers flashbacks! Red Planet are from the Bay Area, full-on candy-ass, butt-shaking pop rock, rampant with guitar chops, fruity lead vocals, layered, gushy harmonies, and rainbow synths that fall somewhere between The Cars and Weezer. This is probably considered “mod” or something equally ridiculous, but seeing as no emo pussy’d ever make it past the first sentence, I can rest assured that none of those shallow little turds will realize how much contempt the rest of have for their trend-jumping tendencies. So Red Planet? Shit, the guys voice is higher than Rick Sims of the Gaza Strippers, and seeing as this Day-Glo hippy pop/rock stuff failed when Enuff Z’nuff did it, Jellyfish only got so far, and, well, this stuff’s just not on that level, I kinda doubt this’ll get past the novelty phase.
