Theatre of Tragedy – Musique – Review

Theatre of Tragedy

Musique (Nuclear Blast)
by Scott Hefflon

I think this is more Goth than most Goth metal cuz there’s a lot of keyboards and I sense you could dance to some of this, if you were so inclined. I think it’s also more Goth than I’m used to cuz it fancies that apathetic dark wave vocal I have no use for, and it likes the pretty sounds of generic industrial. But I like that the vocals are split male and female, and no one really dominates. I’m more a fan of Tiamat, Switchblade Symphony, and Drain STH, but it’s a big world… Something about “Commute” rubs me the right way, bringing to mind both Blondie and Rasputina.
