As is usually the case, it takes Trent Reznor (i.e. Nine Inch Nails) an ungodly long time to finish an album. But when he does, a slew of remixes are sure to follow. For those of you who thought that The Fragile was too long, too complex, with not enough actual songs going on, this is for you. A measly ten tracks, Things Falling Apart has just enough song structure to please all your mainstream ears.

There’s a goodly amount of sonic tweaks as well, for all the “hardcore” listeners. Three versions of “Starfuckers, Inc.,” some neat takes on “Slipping Away,” “The Great Collapse,” and “The Frail,” and a cover of Gary Numan’s “Metal,” which is always nice. If you’re the kinda person who’s gonna buy it if ya see it, there’s not much point in explaining it further. Suffice it to say, if Trent came out with this album first, and then followed it up with The Fragile, he probably would’ve sold more copies of the latter.
