Even Johansen – Quiet & Still – Review

Even Johansen

Quiet & Still (Five One, Inc.)
by Tim Den

Even Johansen, frontman of British/Norwegian band Libido, sounds like a combination of Thom York (back when he still wrote songs) and David Usher (of Moist). Written, performed, and recorded all by himself, Quiet & Still is a journey into a gloomy yet hopeful world of acoustic whispers. Nice touches of slide guitar and brushed-snare add to the melancholy, which probably resembles the self-described “ugly and depressing” residence of the author (Dumfries, Scotland).
