JJ Nobody And The Regulars – Rock ‘n’ Roll Doesn’t End at 2:00 – Review

JJ Nobody And The Regulars

Rock ‘n’ Roll Doesn’t End at 2:00 (Hopeless)
by Scott Hefflon

One thing I really like about Nobodys’ frontman JJ Nobody is that he doesn’t let a little thing like having almost no talent whatsoever stand in the way of cranking out dozens of songs a year. Now that his band is taking a break, JJ is showing he can slaughter roots rock as readily as punk rock, missing notes with wild abandon, snarling rockism about getting drunk and messin’ with other guys’ girls and all the good stuff that, ya know, we all go through. And now we have JJ’s soundtrack to get us through the sloppy mess. The songs are simple, but so is falling out of a chair. Feel free to get on stage and “sing,” or yell “Freebird” until they either play it or you get thrown out of the club. Again.

p.s. Closing tune “Let’s Get Drunk (and Fuck Tonight)” is an obvious classic you should memorize (got 15 seconds?), and I like the band photo at Doc Holliday’s grave. Nice touch.
