Trans-Global Underground – Yes Boss Food Corner – Review

Trans-Global Underground

Yes Boss Food Corner (Ark 21)
by Lex Marburger

Global dance music, with a conscience. That’s what Trans Global Underground wants you to believe. In truth, it’s a thin-mix, cut’n’paste attempt at what Loop Guru perfected five years ago. The best you can say about Yes Boss Food Corner is that it’s from the band that launched Natasha Atlas. Yeah, I’m being unfair. So what? If you’re gonna do something, then do it right. These guys have been around for awhile, and when even their stance of genre crossing has become overly commercialized (see Moby), they still can’t cut it. Here’s what you should listen to instead: Spirit Feel’s self titled album; Loop Guru’s first album on World Domination Records; and, yes, Moby’s Play. I know, I know, but I can’t help it, it’s a good album.
