Anchor Set – Review

Anchor Set

(Nice Guy)
by Adrian Bromley

Early on, Boston-based Anchor Set had me interested in their brand of metal/punk rock music, but by the mid-point of their album, the band lost me entirely. Not only did I not care much for the album – the vocals are too scatterbrained for the flow of the music – but I wondered just who would be into this record? I know who: Young, angst-ridden teens just getting into rebellion and needing a musical source to help intensify their angst. I must say though, some of the guitar work is above par, and the production sounds solid, I just think the band put the songs in the wrong order or something. Anchor away!
