From the ashes of the mighty Disembodied comes Devilinside, a metalcore act with attitude and aggression. The four-song Prelude EP kicks things out fast and heavy, lashing us with a chaotic, non-sympathetic edge, though at times the music here borrows heavily from others in the metalcore genre. EPs are a really hard way to judge a band, because the full-length could go down many avenues, and like most EPs, Prelude is merely a hint of what may come. I hope the band brings a bit more creativity to the mix next time, or there might not be a third album.
