Monochrome – Collapse & Sever – Review

Monochrome

Collapse & Sever (Metropolis)

Victoria Lloyd’s (of Claire Voyant) smooth vocals offer a wonderful contrast of organic human bliss to Clint Sand’s (of cut.rate.box) industrial/EBM/trip hop-drenched dance music. Her lyrics and performance make the songwriting process look deceptively easy. While keeping an almost Wolsheim synth pop approach about them, you can hear elements of Goth and trance, elaborated by very catchy melodies that make Monochrome a full electro-feast. A wonderful band that is not just another male/female duality infused collision of sound.
