The bio is so damn cute, I wish I could just reprint it. Cute and sweet, that’s the bio, that’s the music. To summarize, Snow Machine is Katharine McElroy and a couple dudes. She grew up in Birmingham, AL, loved music in high school and college. After various bands, she formed Three Finger Cowboy, who I vaguely remember liking for being simple and sweet like this. I like this line: “According to my lyrics, I am a much sadder person than I used to be. I think my mother started worrying about me more after hearing these songs.” That’s sweet (better in context). Touching, simple, piano and guitar-based songs, mid-tempo or ballad, and I can’t hear some of the piano without thinking Bruce Hornsby. Katharine isn’t breathy, not a 12 year-old pop diva, she doesn’t have to show off or play up her sexuality. She sounds nice. Buy her a flower so she’ll smile and not be sad and her mother won’t have to worry about her.
