Drive To Nowhere; Verity’s Novel (Suburban Home)
by Scott Hefflon

Released in 2004, the drummer quit, the label held onto the release until now to, uh, not promote it even now? I dunno. They seem to really like it, using phrases like “crafted something very special” and “most accomplished work to date.” Glad they like it, cuz on a quick pass, there are moments, but most of it is kinda boring to these ears. Heartfelt, sure, but nothing that’s dropping my jaw with staggering beauty. The bio references Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, and Jimmy Eat World, and I don’t hear those bands here, which is good, cuz I don’t like them either.
