Resurface (Teenage Disco Bloodbath)

The guy who runs this small Boston label sometimes shoots hardcore and metal bands for Lollipop, and while I’ve never met him, his head and heart seem in the right place. This is his fifth release and first full-length, I think. Tides are from upstate New York, and man, they just drone on and on. I’m a fan of a few Neurot bands, Pelican, and Jucifer, but I’m no expert. I lean more toward the fuzzy, five-minute build-ups than the atmospheric twiddles, but I’d like to lay my hands on Sabbath’s Masters of Reality masters, turn the vocals off, and just hear those riffs sing.
