Tearing Down Your Blue Skies (Century Media)

I’ve always championed Diecast as one of the better bands to emerge from the hardcore scene in Boston. Their two previous releases (on the now-defunct Now Or Never Records), Undo the Wicked (1998) and Day of Reckoning (2001), were chock-full of hardcore drive and intensity, with a solid dose of metallic goodness. Founding singer Colin Schleifer left, Paul Stoddard joined, and the band signed to Century Media. Diecast sound even more focused on the new record, much heavier on all levels, and there’s a lot more energy. Choice cuts include “Traitor,” “Rise and Oppose,” and the towering “Fire Damage.”
