Pajo – Review

Nice. David Pajo (M, Ariel M, Papa M, Slint, and Tortoise) records some intimate songs on his laptop, even singing directly into the computer. I usually have little use for folk or traditional roots/storytelling acoustic stuff, cuz I have Simon & Garfunkle’s Greatest Hits on vinyl , but this is gentle and nice and has a whisper of a hiss that’s kinda comforting, actually. It’s a timeless thing, unassuming and personal, like a slightly faded photo of someone who looks like someone you know… Unlike the unwelcome diary readings and sharing that goes on at open mics over an acoustic, this is hushed enough, with nothing to prove, and therefore feels warm and familiar.
