Stop The Future (Fat)
by Scott Hefflon

Glad Fat lent their distro might to The Epoxies, because they deserve more support than Dirtnap could muster (gee, like returning an email, ever), like The Soviettes bailing from Adeline and Tsunami Bomb from Tomato Head (well, they went to Kung Fu, which is a much smaller step up). The Epoxies are a weird one, hard to peg. Anyone who lumps them in with the trendy indie new wave-obsessed garbage should be slapped, but The Epoxies kinda set themselves up for it with their fashion sense and slathered keyboards (which are less cheesy than most, but are still pretty cheesy). Roxy sings like Bif Naked (which is to say, Pat Benetar), the guitars saw like punkpop, and the melodies will stick with you, so unlike all the style over substance genre bands, The Epoxies have a fanbase, not a rotating bunch of fad-hoppers. Some great stuff here.
