The Messengers – Review

Good ol’ punk rock. No frills, mistakes and “par for the course” filler galore, but gobs of attitude, and a few melodies that’ll stick in yer head. Female-fronted punk that’s not cutesy is pretty rare, as is having a female singer who meshes with the band’s sound, not sits on top of it. Call it unpolished, call it sloppy (the band aren’t together at least a couple times per song, and it’s not like punk is all that hard to play, ya know?), it’s beer-raising punk, slam-happy punk, and they can and should open for bigger bands of this sort and win over fans for years to come.
