Soilent Green
Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction (Metal Blade)
by Scott Hefflon
Swamp grinders return on a new label, and they’re still miserable about it all. Soilent Green has endured more tragedy than any other band I can think of (look it up: It’s too long to list or summarize), but they persevere, cuz really, what choice do you have? The blasting and death growl is broken up a bit more here with riffs of pure Southern groove plus some impressive acoustic breaths, but anyone who sneers that the band has gotten lame oughtta trudge a mile in their grimy boots, dig?
