The Big Picture
by Scott Hefflon

Quick melodic punk pop, totally mid-’90s, with harmonies and whoa-whoas stacked to the ceiling, and a soft-spoken singer. Kinda cool, cuz instead of all the bluster and bragging, this singer sounds shy and gentle. Not very punk, but perhaps a nice of pace. Not really, but it’s worth noting. Truthfully, the vocals simply undermine the umph punk can have, even when singing about girls like MxPx or whatever. These guys are totally unsigned and DIY, have probably played with lots of mediocre bands on the Warped Tour these days, and are too young to’ve played with punk bands that had to play hard and fast and fight and kick and claw to get noticed in the glut of pretty damn good punkpop bands in the mid-’90s. They have general chops, but have yet to distinguish themselves.
