Davidlynch.Com Re-Launch March 10

Redesigned Site Highlights New, Previously Released and Unissued Music from David Lynch Music Company

David Lynch will explore the sound and vision of David Lynch Music Company this week when he unveils his newly redesigned www.davidlynch.com. The legendary artist will lift the curtain on this visually stunning site March 10 “sometime” between 1:23 and 1:38 p.m. (PST).

An immersive digital music store and experience, www.davidlynch.com will allow guests to preview, purchase, and download new music created at Lynch’s own Asymmetrical Studio, including his latest singles, “Good Day Today” and “I Know.”

This extensive online destination will also feature archived material released by David Lynch Music Company since its 2007 launch, plus unreleased singles, experiments and instrumentals created by Lynch and collaborators throughout the years. In the coming months, the archive will present Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti’s Thought Gang. Hinted at for more than two decades, this avant-garde, esoteric jazz album was recorded around the time of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me and is a Lynch/Badalamenti collaboration in the classic sense.

Utilizing the popular Topspin direct-to-fan platform, www.davidlynch.com is designed to give guests an immersive sensory experience, while providing an arena for the artist to maintain the site personally. The idea, Lynch states succinctly, is to host an online “secret room filled with music.”

Indeed, the labyrinthine site explores the twists and turns of Lynch’s numerous music projects, from his collaborations with Fox Bat Strategy (the roadhouse band in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me) and Polish pianist Marek Zebrowski to artists such as Afghani-American singer Ariana Delawari. In addition, www.davidlynch.com features the latest information about upcoming projects from David Lynch Music Company.

One of the most renowned avant-garde film directors and visual artists of his time, Lynch has always had a deep connection to music and its creation for his uncompromisingly original films and television series.

His first feature film Eraserhead featured the Lynch-penned song “In Heaven” (with Peter Ivers). While making Blue Velvet, he wrote the song “Mysteries of Love” with composer Angelo Badalamenti. This led Lynch and Badalamenti to write and record an entire album with vocalist Julee Cruise. The song “Falling” became the theme song for his television series “Twin Peaks,” later winning a Grammy for “Best Pop Instrumental.”

In 2007, having contributed bits of music to virtually all of his films and his musical ambitions growing, Lynch became the eponymous creator of the label David Lynch Music Company. More recently, Lynch collaborated on the album Dark Night of the Soul with Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, singing two of the album’s 13 tracks and providing the visual component to the project by photographically illustrating each song on the album in a 100-page limited edition book. His most recent music release was a joint venture with Sunday Best Recordings; a release of two solo singles: “Good Day Today” and “I Know,” accompanied with a full remix package.
