I gotta say, it’s pretty sweet being able to review new music. I get to hear all kinds of killer stuff, and the stuff that’s not so killer just helps give perspective. Of course, not everyone can cut a deal like this for themselves, so regular visits to Metalsucks.net are the next best thing. There’s so much content coming down the pipeline every day, visitors are up to date on what’s happening in the metal world. In addition to the usual newsy posts about what drummer left what band, there are new videos, tracks, and full album streams posted regularly. Your metal IQ will probably even go up after a few weeks of regular usage, because for every post about System of a Down’s reunion tour plans, there will inevitably be 10 other posts about bands you’ve never heard of in your life. The site also has a great sense of humor, with contests like “Completely Unreadable Band Logo of the Week,” links to plenty funny/cool off-site stuff like Decibel Magazine’s “Justify Your Shitty Taste” columns, or laments on the slow demise of Queensrÿche and hair metal.
