William Beckett shares new song “Hanging on a Honeymoon”

Equal Vision Records’ solo artist William Beckett is premiering a new song “Hanging On A Honeymoon” on Glamour.com. “‘Hanging On a Honeymoon’ is all about the amazing haze of happiness that surrounds you early on in a relationship when everything is cute and anything is charming as long as you’re together,” Beckett reveals. “We all know this can’t last forever, but this song is about wanting it to.”
The song comes from his debut full-length album, Genuine & Counterfeit, which will be released on August 20.

Beckett premiered his first music video from the record as well, partnering with FUSE for the launch of “Benny & Joon” – a song and video loosely inspired by the movie of the same name, chronicling two oddballs falling in love, accepting each other’s quirks and differences. The video is also now available on Youtube.

Beckett recorded Genuine & Counterfeit earlier this year in his hometown of Chicago, IL with producer Marc McClusky (Weezer, Ludo). The new album embraces his expansive vocal range, pop sensibilities, quirky yet soothingly hypnotic melodies and distinctive narrative lyrical twists; Offering his most diverse stylings and personal material to date. Genuine & Counterfeit also features guest vocal appearances from Say Anything’s Max Bemis and Mayday Parade’s Derek Sanders.

As a solo artist, and as frontman to the now disbanded outfit The Academy Is…, Beckett has toured with the likes of KISS, Fall Out Boy, Motion City Soundtrack, Cobra Starship, Plain White T’s, Mayday Parade and more.

Beckett is currently performing on the Acoustic Basement Stage of the 2013 Vans Warped Tour, which wraps up this week in Houston, TX. This fall, he will head back overseas for an Australian tour with Anberlin and The Maine. US tour plans for later in the year are confirmed, with details to be announced soon.
