Punk girls, pissed off about identity, the future, and their seemingly tenuous place in it, yeah, that would be the Pinky Rings from Austin, Texas, on new single “Hear Me Out.” And we listen to dark-haired singer Bella Borbon fairly spit out her lyrics like a ’20s Cherie Currie (hopefully sans a ’20s Kim Fowley in the picture). “Hear Me Out” is a mid-to-quick-tempoed rant that brings to mind the offspring of L7 and Bikini Kill, with the kid ingesting a lot of Dead Kennedys and Agent Orange. Punky grunge or grungy punk, tu decides.
