This band’s not fully realized yet, but you weren’t either when you were a kid. Pull up that novel you wrote at 23. Eh? Shut your mouth. “Lethario,” not to be confused with lothario, is Daytime. with a period’s latest single. It’s really just a one-man operation in the beginning stages, and his name is Makain Wiginton. The best era of music — ’90s alternative rock— is the band’s playground. Yeah, yeah, it’s derivative, but I don’t give a shit. This song takes me back to big, fuzzy chords and days of discovery when we wore loose-fitting clothes and had long, messy hair. Actually, these days my hair is even longer and messier. You don’t hate Nirvana because they ripped off the Pixies, right? (The dynamics, anyway.) Or the Dave Clark Five for sounding like the Beatles? You do? Well fuck you, too. The sound Wiginton gets from his guitar is choice, as is his overall sound.
