The Flying Dutchmen
Pathfinder (Tone Casualties)
by Lex Marburger
Mainly a trip hop and ambient work, Pathfinder throws some Massive Attack and Portishead into Material and Laurie Anderson. The Flying Dutchman takes the explorations of the Martian Pathfinder as the concept for this album, and sets the transmitted images to music. How do I know this? The bio told me. Nothing in the liner notes or the music lends itself toward this theory. So you may as well forget about it. The album, though, is pretty good. Worth a listen or two.
