Swank – “Superfly” – Review March 1, 1995 Malachite reforms (again) playing new roles and carrying a new banner: Swank. It’s slow, mean, heavy and pissed off.
Roadsaw – Roadsaw / Grind – “Gorgeous” / “The Sickest Ride” – Review March 1, 1995 Roadsaw rocks, as usual. Big, fat bass, rambling, distorted guitar and chill rocker vocals.
Psycho – Shrunken – Review March 1, 1995 I thought it was deathpunk. Just badly produced death at the wrong speed.
Notary Public – Review March 1, 1995 Alternative pop. Pearl Jam without the suffering? Big Country? I’m grasping at straws here. I dunno, it’s nice.
Moodcrush – “Megahog” – Review March 1, 1995 Moodcrush combine ripping solos that remind one of early Aerosmith or AC/DC, with lyrical enunciation like Freddy Mercury in a wicked mood.
Johnny Bravo – She’s Been Around – Review March 1, 1995 Formerly the Lobby Magnets, this Plymouth bunch churn out hard rockin’ glam punk with snarl and drive.
Insult – Live At “Farview Hospital” For The Criminally Insane – Review March 1, 1995 This hardcore outfit bombards with insane intensity. This band takes pride in murdering The American Way and any bureaucrats that believe in it.
Gwen Mars – “Cosmic Dick” / “Shrink” – Review March 1, 1995 It’s got a trippy underwater groove but with guitars and bass of such thunderous magnitude, I’m amazed it all fits in 7″.
Grind – Roadsaw / Grind split – “Gorgeous” / “The Sickest Ride” – Review March 1, 1995 “Gorgeous” is more gregarious girl grrr from Grind. Grungy, with a Gothic chorus.
Gonkulator – God Slaughter – Review March 1, 1995 I’d call it Satanic sludge/deathcore but I can’t call it anything other than a waste of time. No form, no lyrics, no songs.
