Morning Glories – Fully Loaded – Review May 1, 1995 This is what you listen to while you trash your room.
Moonpools and Caterpillars – Lucky Dumpling – Review May 1, 1995 Not surprisingly, this is cute pop with a female singer. Kinda dippy, kinda trippy, infectiously energetic.
Monkey Tail – Review May 1, 1995 Shouting local rock with too much bass. I think I like this. Sarcastic and abrasive with no song titles. The Europe trading card was a nice touch.
Misery Loves Co. – Review May 1, 1995 The crushing riffs, mechanized drums, cruel rhythms and agonized vox are all there, but MLC can tone it down with smooth and sorrowful vocals.
Minxus – Pabulum – Review May 1, 1995 They create well-crafted songs with changes and flourishes. hey feel… like warm sandpaper (fine grain) when you take off your shoes on a summer’s day.
Meristem – “504” / “Reverend” – Review May 1, 1995 Side one is rock. Pure and Simple. “Reverend” is good, solid indie rock from Western MA. Competent, but not ground-breaking.
Menthol – Review May 1, 1995 Simple, grooving melodies with witty, sexy lyrics, occasionally reminiscent of Bowie-isms of the Stardust era.
Medicine – “Off The Vine” – Review May 1, 1995 Almost worth it for the packaging, but not quite. The music is plodding, distant, and underwater-sounding. Try as I might, I just couldn’t really get into it.
Mad Season – Above – Review May 1, 1995 With Layne Staley’s (Alice in Chains) smooth vocals and Mike McCready’s (Pearl Jam) wailing Les Paul, could they go wrong?
Madder Rose – The Love You Save – Review May 1, 1995 Madder Rose rocked on last year’s Panic On. The title track, a classic Jackson 5 tune, is terribly put to shame, and from there, it only gets worse.
