Full o’ tunes that are both catchy and melodic but thanks to tenacious, aggressive use of the rhythm section, they take on a heavy, slightly unpleasant feel.
Creature has some attempts at heaviness, but mostly the band teeters in the middle of that blurry area between a rock song and a ballad, very much like Live.
While I’m more a fan of the heavy groove soul-rock than the almost straight funk thang, a good song is a good song. And the Groovehounds have good songs.
