E. Coli – 0157H7- Review July 1, 1995 Gorgeously slow and noisy. A trip through sub atomic landscapes with your host, Capt. Valium.
Marcellus Hall – 4-Track Recordings – Review July 1, 1995 Psychedelic-tinged blues-stylings from the Railroad Jerk frontman. A friend of mine took one listen and termed it “hippie music;” I guess that’s pretty apt.
Bananocide – Express Your Overdose – Review July 1, 1995 Well produced, metallish. Turns into Pearl Jam after a few songs. If you like it, get it.
The Good Life – Three Songs – Review July 1, 1995 The lyrics are tight. The guitars are creepy, the drums wander around the set, and the solo rips in a classic rock/Black Crowes festival of music.
4 – The Past and the Present – Review July 1, 1995 Zep-style guitars, weird and wild drum sound, distorted, dissident, and choppy everything else. Renews my faith in innovative rock.
Speyemusic – Review July 1, 1995 A talented grunge-punk band. They’re tight, competent, and chock full of potential. I’d like to see them live.
Second Balcony Jump – Wired On Thought – Review July 1, 1995 Catchy rock with good grooves and sharp hooks. Gonna be great live; there’s a lot of energy in here.
Thought Junkie – Review June 1, 1995 When these guys get supported and go into a decent studio, they’ll be able to compete with the MTV “Collective Soul” crowd.
Special Head – “Mental Dam” / “Hag” – Review June 1, 1995 Special Head have the disgruntled, butch-but-attractive tough chick-metal attitude of L7. They wear it well.
Swinging Steaks – Suicide at the Wishing Well – Review June 1, 1995 Long necks on a sawdust floor, pedal steel guitars, jump up and dance to the upbeat rhythms of country rock.
