The Good Life – Three Songs – Review

The Good Life

Three Songs
by Tom Delanie

The cover of The Good Life‘s Three Songs set me up for greatness. Stained glass, a child in a box – could be a coffin. I like that. “Feeling Up” starts as Boston Rock with typical everything. Ah, but wait… “Torn To Flesh” has an intro that shows merit, foreshadowing, murky… is that the production? Well, save your applause for “Novacaine.” The lyrics are tight. “I’m shooting Novacaine/I’m feeling numb and dumb again.” The guitars are creepy, the drums wander around the set, and the solo rips in a classic rock/Black Crowes festival of music. A rousing finish to an album that doesn’t hurt.
