Indie synthpop, from the label that brought you fun. and Paramore. “Guns for Hands” is infectious, to be sure, with a chorus like Alphaville or any of the dreamy, high-voiced new wave bands of the ’80s. I keep thinking of “Pop! Goes My Heart,” by Hugh Grant in the movie Words and Music. Three minutes in, there’s some upstroked ska with white guy geek rap, but it’s short’n’sweet, and then we’re back to the electro sugar overload.
