A good stab at Hüsker Dü’s Land Speed Record in intensity. It’s more punk than hardcore, and a very refreshing glass of youthful angst on this hot sunny day.
I’d’ve liked to’ve heard a bit o’ the tight-as-a-monkey’s-fist piccolo snare (á la The Specials) in “Monkey Boogie,” but it’s still a butt-wagging ska ditty.
It’s “Old Fashioned Hardcore,” as they describe it, like Dischord, circa 1981 (like Void) or the Gang Green and FUs (I’m talkin’ the reeeaaally short songs).
Pulley is vocalist Scott (ex-Ten Foot Pole), guitarist Jim (bassist of Strung Out), drummer Jordan (of Strung Out), bassist Matt (ex-Face To Face), and Mike.
