Most bands do a fine job of replicating the originals, with a few adding their own flavor. Reel Big Fish place a gentle dub into the lullaby “Close Our Eyes.”
NY Rel-X revels in blood in lyrics and artwork, but the streamlined sound is actually very clean. Crisp, intelligible vocals face impressive brisk guitarwork.
Should just be called Manda, since it’s got no marbles. The album is perfect: Flawless, over-produced, cream-filled sweetness, like eating both Twinkies. Twice.
