Longest-running series, and a good value. They’re getting harder to discern from each other and the Warped Tour comps, but there’s always a surprise or two.
Only Crime isn’t averse to a melody, and their fierce delivery will shame most of the young bands trying to follow. Try to keep up, kids, this is how it’s done.
The sound is reminiscent of Rancid and The Suicide Machines but, to be brutally honest, The Code is quite a bit better than either and poised to be huge.
The metal edge is chamfered by dramatic soaring Goth rock progressions and honed with Sabbath crunch. Spacey electronic squeaks put a modern stamp on the piece.
Fuzzed-out, bass-driven, obscene Birthday Party versions of the Batman theme. Like Wire and Gang of Four, they can be skillfully brutal and remain intelligent.
This scratches the itch for garage rock with brilliantly retarded lyrics. Only people who like silliness and a damn good time are going to let The Thingz loose.
